Red Rogue is a FREE action-paced roguelike that focuses more classically on elements such as equipment and subtle strategic know-how. You also get a pet skeleton! Thus far the gameplay would appear to be combat-oriented, along with some necessary identification and equipment management. There’s plenty of crazy stuff that keeps the player asking for more.

This is a brilliantly crafted roguelike, dressed up as a 2D platformer. The biggest surprise is how closely it sticks to the genre–not just the procedural generation, but also the wild and random spells, unidentified loot, and vast warrens full of mystical traps. There’s even a turn-based mode for traditionalists.

The atmosphere is great. Claustrophobic and paranoid works wonders on the psyche of a player not knowing what they’re supposed to accomplish next.

Your goal is to essentially descend into the Dungeon of Chaos, retrieve the Amulet of Yendor, kill all who stand in your way and return with your prize.
